Giving the world a hand since February 3rd, 2002. "If you're gonna dine with them cannibals, sooner or later, darling, you're gonna get eaten." I pity the fool that doesn't e-mail me! ODDS 'N' ENDS Went to the doctor last week for a number of reasons. It turns out that my kneecaps are out of alignment with the rest of my legs. The doc sentenced me to two weeks of physical therapy. Also, I have possible damaged cartilage on the tips of the tibia. The x-rays were inconclusive. If that's true, then I will almost certainly require surgery. At this point, the pain is so constant and draining that I would welcome surgery--and this is from a man that fears the hospital. Why is it that old churches and public restrooms have exactly the same acoustics? Attended the Planned Parenthood Book Sale here is Des Moines. The event filled one of the buildings at the State Fair Grounds. Bought 24 books (paperbacks & hardbacks) and a CD for around $35. Spent 2 1/2 hours there, and we bought so many books that we had to go through the checkout line twice (once per load to the car). Ahhhh, the simple pleasures... Visited Ames, IA, to see the gf's cousin. She is wanting to go back to school & finish her degree. Her cousin gave us a tour of the campus & a bit of the town. At one point, she turned to me and asked if I would want to move there with her. A large part of me wants to do so, and that kinda scares me. Not exactly sure why. We had a thunderstorm here on Thursday. Lost power, too. When the power came back up, my VCR had decided that that was a good time to go belly up. Now I have to waste more money on a new one. I guess it was time, though. It was seven years old, and had taken quite a beating. I honestly can't remember ever cleaning the thing. Farewell, old friend. |
