MONITOR ENVY? R's monitor has been slowly dying for a few months now. It would turn off on its own (usually while in use) and turn itself on (usually right after being turned off) whenever it felt like it. We asked her cousin if he knew anyone that was sellig a monitor, and he said that we could have one of his for $150. Well we picked it up today from his parents' house (he'd have brought it to us, but he's on his deathbed with mono or strep or something--wuss). It's a 19" ViewSonic in the dark grey/black color, and the damn thing is huge. Is there such a thing as "monitor envy"? Anyway, I haven't posted in awhile. My excuse? "City of Heroes", the MMORPG. You get to create your own superhero and fight the forces of evil, in a city filled with heroes run by other real people. Too much fun. Also, my birthday was the 23rd. I got from R two Henry Rollins spoken word CDs and the second season of "South Park" on DVD. From my family, I received a digital camera. A really nice one, actually. I figured I'd better get one before the child is born, so that I can send out the e-mails with pics as birth announcements. "See? Doesn't my newborn child resemble Edward G. Robinson? Oh, not his early work, but his later work a la 'Soylent Green'." R also got a new job, which is nice because her last one dismissed her on the 24th. She starts on June 21st, at a significantly higher pay level. So we've got that going for us, which is nice... |
