I LIKE MIKE Go here to read an interview with retired Rangers goalie Mike Richter. He has quite a bit to say about the place of fighting in hockey. My favorite bit: NYSX: Flyers GM Bobby Clarke says goalies are too protected.Heh. Richter is one of the players that I most admire. He was a fantastic goalie, player, and all around nice guy. Any failings he had as a goalie are more due to the team playing in front of him, rather than any personal weaknesses. I remember watching him steal the World Cup of Hockey back in 1996. He carried that team on his back, kicking & screaming the whole way. Mike, you are missed. MSG just isn't the same without you. (Link via PuckUpdate) Wednesday, June 30, 2004
HERE COMES THE HALIBURTON FLOAT... Go listen to the O'Franken Factor's tongue-in-cheek coverage of the Iraqi Independence Day Parade. Be prepared to laugh like a hyena, startling your friends, coworkers, and loved ones. Dry, understated, and brutally funny. Al Franken is a comedy genius. PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE! Bush rebuffs Chirac over Turkey Really, he should've waited until dessert. Rebuffing is bad for the digestion, my mother always says. <rimshot> |
