YOU KNOW YOU'RE OLD WHEN...PT. II ...you start discussing music with a younger co-worker, and you go off on how Van Halen was totally ruined when they replaced David Lee Roth with the wussy Sammy Hagar... ...and the person you're talking to says "Van who?" Grow, my little grey hairs, grow. MR. GARIBALDI IS A.....RWW? I caught a bit of Jerry Doyle's talk-radio show the other night, and it intrigued me (mainly because I'm a fan of his work on "Babylon 5"). It turns out he's a "moderate" RWW. Tonight, he called Howard Dean a racist for a remark he made in front of an African-American Democratic group. I don't remember the exact remark, but it was something like "Republicans couldn't get this many blacks to gather in one room unless they invited in the hotel staff"--or something to that effect. A joke, obviously. The previous night, at the end of his show he mentioned a man in Peru or Paraguay that tried to commit suicide by poison in a courtroom after a judgement against him. He then mentioned that some Republican was shopping around a SS plan to some Dems, but that the Dems said "it looks good, it's the way to go about it, but I can't support it because of the retribution promised against me" (Josh Marshall reported on this earlier this month--go look it up for yourself, I'm tired). Jerry then said that maybe those Dems should drink whatever the guy in Paraguay/Peru/whatever did. Yeah, he calls himself a guy that "calls it like it is" and a "real straight-shooter". Anyway, to get anything useful out of his website, you have to become a Premium Member ($5.95/month or $54.95/year). I'm not wasting my time or money. |
